All 3 Of Our Kids Are Now Teenagers: From Pregnancy to Age 13

Today, two of my three kids turn 13 years-old. Yes, my "babies," Shea and Aidan now join their 15 year-old sister, Brynn, in the teenage ranks. It's hard to believe that thirteen years ago, I was packing my bags to prepare for the hospital. These two boys are such incredible people. I love watching them grow and change every day, as they transform from children into young adults. It gets me all teary sometimes, yet I also find this segment of the journey to be the most exciting so far as a parent. Watching all of the little lessons and moments from the past start having an impact on their here-and-now. The babies, toddlers, children that they were, begin morphing into these amazing people. Being their mom is the best role of all the roles I play in life, and I love them with all my heart.

Last year, I wrote this blog when they turned twelve. If you want to read my reminiscences of pregnancy with twins and the day they were born, it's all written out there.

Below this entry, you can see a Quote of the Day dedicated to them and a photo of all three kids taken just days after Aidan and Shea were born, with their big sister excitedly nestled between them.

We have some fun things planned for today and I'm getting some last minute work finished while they finish getting ready (which now takes more time to do than it did last year...ahhhh teenagers), so we can skedaddle out of here.

Yes, they are getting older on me, but with each year, what fantastic new memories are made. Wow, how lucky I am to enjoy life's ride with them.

Happy Birthday, boys!
