Hi there. I'm Jinxi.
I'm 39 and live in Southern California with Steve, my husband of 18 years, and our three amazing kids: Brynn, Shea and Aidan. As vegans and freethinkers, our family is committed to cruelty-free living and rational thinking. Once upon a time, we lived through two crazy weeks of filming for the television show Wife Swap, where all sorts of drama ensued.
I have a bachelor's degree in psychology, though I sold my soul to eBay in 1997, when I started the online collectibles business that I still run today. It pays the bills, but I have bigger goals and am constantly trying to find the balance between "working with what works" and chasing my dreams. The perks of being my own boss include the ability to add to my body art collection and getting daily front row seats to my kids' lives.
I am a devotee to words and books. Reading and writing are my passions. I accept freelance writing gigs whenever I can. Last year, I co-wrote and edited my first book about tattoo history and realism techniques called Let's Be Realistic with Mike DeVries. This year, I again collaborated with Mike on the forthcoming book, Tattoo Prodigies, which focuses on the world's best tattoo artists and their accomplishments.
I am the Cupcake Curator for an art project called the Cupcake Continuum. It celebrates individuality and participants from all over the world have graciously contributed their unique artwork. I know that nobody can do everything, but that everybody can do something; so I try to sprinkle my somethings in tiny doses throughout my journey.
