The Gift of Art

This is Abril.

She's an amazing mom to Lucy.

Wife to super-talented tattoo artist hubby, Matt.

My BFF.

And an inspiring, creative, accomplished artist.

Her and her ultra-cute family live in Ohio, where they own Two Dollar Pistol Tattoo and she paints in her private studio. Abril's work is highly sought-after and she has galleries calling left & right to exhibit her beautiful work. I frequently wish that O-H-I-O was nestled right into Southern California so that we could dine together, hang out, and watch the kiddos grow up in person, but alas, we love each other and our families via emails, photos, phone calls and texts; and then greatly appreciate the real-life visits when they roll around.

In the meantime, we have always enjoyed sending little friendship packages to one another and I just had to share the treasures that arrived in my mailbox recently from Miss Abril Boo.

She painted our whole family on separate canvases in the big-eye style that made her famous (she actually does many other genres, but is well-known for her big eye characters). Look how amazing they are:

I just adore her work and am so proud of all that she is accomplishing in the art world.
