anagram (an-uh-gram) - noun

An anagram is " a word, phrase, or sentence formed from another by rearranging its letters." (ie: satin to stain)

First used in the written form around 1589. From the French word anagramme; from the Greek word anagrammatizein, which meant to"transpose letters," from ana- ("up, back") + gramma ("letter").

*Some fun anagrams:

- "George Bush" gives "He bugs Gore"

- "Madonna Louise Ciccone" gives "Occasional nude income"

- "William Shakespeare" gives"I am a weakish speller"
