Zilch means "zero; nothing."

Was originally used in the written form 1965-1970 from Americanism roots. Was perhaps associated with the previous use of Mr. Zilch a comic character in the 1931 magazine Ballyhoo.  Zilch is an actual German surname of Slavic origin.
